Rationale
The Bachelor of Ministry (Honours) program is designed for students who have graduated with a three-year undergraduate degree in Ministry or Theology from the University and who have demonstrated high academic potential. It is a means of preparing men and women for advanced research in Ministry.
Course Structure
96 credit points over 1 year (F/T)
- 24cps coursework units from the student’s designated field of research at level 8 or above
- 12cps Research Methods
- 36cps word thesis in EM / PC / DE at Level 8 (**200-836)
- 24cps coursework units from any field at level 8 or above
Units in this course are completed at Level 8 or above.
Admission Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- BTh or BMin with GPA min 2.0 overall, with 2.0 in the designated field of study
Language requirements: IELTS 7.0 overall with a minimum of 7.0 in reading and writing, and 6.5 in listening and speaking OR 10 years in Australia with English being the language primarily spoken both at home and work. Language requirements (Chinese course): Qualification in Chinese in the last 10 years; or using Chinese as the language primarily spoken both at home and work for the last 10 years; or Chinese Language Proficiency test through a HSK Test or another test approved by the University. Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Bachelor of Ministry (Honours) will be able to:
Knowledge
1. discuss Christian ministry concepts and practices at an advanced level, including spiritual and ethical implications, with particular attention to at least one field of ‘Ministry and Practice’
2. explain research principles and methods used in the field of ‘Ministry’
Skills
1. collect, analyse, synthesise and transform ‘Ministry’ scholarship and information
2. think critically and independently in identifying and solving complex problems in ‘Ministry’ contexts for new understanding
3. design and execute a research project
4. present clear, coherent and independent perspectives on ‘Ministry’ ideas and practices using a variety of formats with specialist and non-specialist audiences
Application
1. exercise initiative and judgment in ‘Ministry’ practice and/or scholarship
2. plan and execute projects and scholarly research on ‘Ministry' matters with initiative and intellectual independence
Fees

Course Rules
- Honours will be determined from the Honours course alone, and will not include the GPA of units taken in the prior undergraduate degree.
- Candidates may take no more than three years after the completion of their initial undergraduate degree in theology or ministry to complete the Bachelor Honours course.
- The criterion for determining honours grades is available on the University website.
